City Farms Grower Coalition

Growing farmers in Chattanooga, Tennessee

since 2019, we've put down roots throughout chattanooga

With the support of our partner organizations UTC, Help Right Here, and The Howard School, City Farms has been able to facilitate experiential learning opportunities through the growing of food, from seed to harvest. This hands-on learning opportunity strengthens our understanding of local food systems, food justice, and community-- all through the process of growing delicious, healthy food!

collaborative partnerships

Our partners provide the soil and the spirit that allow us to flourish. We've put down roots in garden sites like The Howard Roots Youth Farm and 12th & Peeples Peace Garden.

hands-on training

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."

We believe the words of Ben Franklin when it comes to our hands-on training in urban agriculture. City Farms' provides students and community members the opportunity to get their hands dirty and learn the lessons that farming has to give: patience, acceptance, and humility, and of course growing food.

experiential learning

We're raising young farmers from the gardens at Hardy Elementary School to the outdoor classroom at Orchard Knob Middle to the greenhouse at the Historic Howard School. We envision building a coalition of young farmers that are equipped to put the culture back in agriculture.
